Jamiroquai is the latest to join The Sandbox’s more than 200 partnerships, including Ubisoft, The Rabbids, Gucci Vault, The Walking Dead, Snoop Dogg, Adidas, The Smurfs and CryptoKitties.
Animoca Brands subsidiary announced a partnership with renowned funk and acid jazz band – Jamiroquai – best known for the 1996 global smash hit “Virtual Insanity”.
- According to the official blog post, the strategic collaboration aims to bring the song that was released as the second single from their third studio album, Traveling Without Moving, to their Virtual Land in the Sandbox.
- While the song managed to capture audiences and received a Best Video appearance at the VMAs more than twenty years ago, its director Jonathan Glazer acknowledged that “computer trickery” was not used with the famous floor moving concept. .
- To give a glimpse of what to expect in virtual real estate, Jamiroquai shared a 38-second teaser of the famous song in pixel format.
- The British funk band said in a statement,
“Jamiroquai has always been futuristic and super social – creating a land where everyone can come together with a little funk, freedom and fashion in the sandbox, digitally connecting with our fans and fellow music lovers. We look forward to telling you more soon, but can say for now that hats will definitely be included.”
