Long-term bitcoin campaigner and his wife Stacy Herbert have announced El Zonte Capital, an investment fund that aims to put El Salvador at the center of “hyperbitcoinization”.
The company is named for the city where the Bitcoin Beach community was founded to take advantage of both bitcoin and the Lightning network, leading the president of El Salvador to draft legislation to accept BTC as legal tender. prepared.
The husband and wife of The Orange Pill podcast and Russia Today’s The Keizer Report started the company after living in the coastal city for the past two months and learning how the bitcoin-based economy works.
“El Zonte is hyperbitcoinization. Hyperbitcoinization is economic freedom, and hyperbitcoinization is our main investment thesis,” Keizer told Bitcoin Magazine. “After experiencing exactly what it looks like, we see it as the inevitable near future for everyone else. We’re riding this wave like any surfer.”

The city of El Zonte is arguably the most “bitcoinized” municipality on the planet, with most of the local commerce using currency.
El Zonte Capital will begin operations with an initial fund of $5 million.
Keizer and Herbert are general partners of the firm along with Corey Klipston, founder of Swan Bitcoin. According to the partners, the advisory council will include many of the most knowledgeable and connected bitcoiners from around the world.
Keizer and Herbert first began investing in bitcoin-related companies in 2013 and have since made venture investments in more than 15 firms, including exchanges Kraken, Swan Bitcoin and Bitfinex.
“The future is all around us,” Keizer said. “I haven’t been so excited about bitcoin since I first heard about bitcoin.”
