Earlier today, web infrastructure platform Cloudflare suffered another major blockage, causing half the internet to collapse, crippling major communications platforms and crypto exchanges, including Discord and FTX.
Major crypto exchanges gone offline
During the Cloudflare outage, which lasted 25 minutes, crypto users who attempted to access the websites of service providers such as FTX, Bitfinex, CoinMarketCap, and OKX received a “500 Internal Server Error” message.
Soon after the affected exchanges took note of the issue, users were notified via Twitter with OKEx CEO Jay Hao asking if there was a Web3 option to prevent this from happening in the future. No.
If you can’t go to https://t.co/GrBdKl0wkQ and “500 Internal Server Error” pops up, it appears to be a problem #cloudflare‘Send.
In what seems like a global internet outage, things should be back to normal soon.
Any web3 alternatives in the future?

FTX also notified users about the outage, noting that its markets are only available in post-mode.
Cloudflare is experiencing an outage, and therefore it will be difficult for many users to access FTX and many other sites. FTX markets are in an after-only mode.

Interestingly, the Cloudflare outage did not affect some crypto exchanges, including Binance. When asked why Binance was still operating during the downtime, the company’s CEO Changpeng Zhao said that the exchange had a redundant setup to prevent such incidents.
Not right, CMC is affected. I

not the first time
Cloudflare has restored its servers, allowing users to access affected crypto exchange websites. Although the web infrastructure platform did not disclose the reason for the outage, the company said it would continue to monitor the results.
However, this is not the first time Cloudflare has suffered an outage affecting crypto websites. In August 2020, another similar incident caused a brief pause for Bitfinex and several other major websites. Last week, the platform reported downtime that affected websites in some parts of the world.
Cloudflare Will Set Up Ethereum Validator Nodes
Meanwhile, Cloudflare recently announced support for the Ethereum Gateway so that users can have read and write access to the Ethereum network without having to install any software on their devices.
The web infrastructure platform is also planning to launch a fully staked ETH validator node to support Ethereum’s PoS transition in the coming months.
