Estonian-based blockchain company Compute has released a decentralized cloud computing model built on a token designed specifically for Web3, which offers greater anonymity and control.
Designed using widely tested open-source technologies, Compute’s decentralized network is deployed on top of Ethereum with an off-chain layer running on Kubernetes.
This infrastructure allows for high availability, easy scalability, and reliable, low-cost cloud computing services. More information is available here.
“AWS, GCP, and many other big names are leaders in centralized cloud computing, the problem is that they control users’ data, access to computing power, and privacy,” said Compute CEO Xabier Almazor.
Compute is the “AWS” of the Web3 economy, connecting customers of cloud services with network resource providers who want to generate revenue.
- Every transaction on the network is implemented by smart contracts and recorded on the blockchain.
- Network providers are encouraged to provide resources and keep the network secure.
- There are several layers of confidentiality to protect intellectual property.
- Only authorized actions are allowed against the blockchain, so code and data integrity is guaranteed.
How Compute Workss
The process starts when a user requests to deploy an application with the blockchain. The node will validate the request and initiate the execution of the computational task.
Kubernetes manages the execution of tasks using secure containers and taking into account the network capacity. Nodes are rewarded for allowing the use of their computing resources in the network.
The user gets all the computing power they need. Node owners are rewarded for sharing their computing power and keeping the network secure. All this happens in real time and is recorded on the blockchain to ensure the security and anonymity of transactions.
what does this mean for web3
The future of the Internet is pretty much exactly what it was intended to do, with a reliable and autonomous network that allows users to instantly access fantastic levels of computational power.
The best part for the user is that this new model is extremely user-friendly, allowing the average consumer to use these technologies with little knowledge of the code.
All about Komput
Compute connects users of cloud services to network resource providers who can generate revenue by providing their computing resources and a specific amount of tokens.
The Compute ecosystem implements a permissionless model that enables developers to deploy their services with fewer restrictions.
