New Guinea could become another Africa for Cardano
About a year ago, in October 2021, crypto mogul and mathematician Hoskinson visited Africa, visiting several countries to give public speeches and support Cardano-based innovative projects on that continent.
In his “Pan-African tour”, as he referred to it, Hoskinson visited several African countries, including Nigeria and Zanzibar, meeting with presidents and high-ranking politicians and businessmen.
Since then, Cardano has participated in investing in several African blockchain and fintech startups through Adverse, an ecosystem accelerator created by Cardano to support crypto startups in Africa. One of them was the local blockchain gaming guild and the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) Afriguild.
Afriguild then announced that it intended to attract approximately 100 million Africans to crypto and Web3.
Recent Cardano Investments in Africa
Overall, Hoskinson believes that Africa will become a continent with the most blockchain and crypto adoption in the near future, with lots of assets.
As recently reported by U.Today, Cardano participated in an $11 million investment round in Pezzesha, an African fintech firm focused on microfinance and affordable loans to local SMEs.
