This is an opinion editorial by Alex Swetsky, the founder of “The Uncommunist Manifesto”. bitcoin times and host of “Wake Up Podcast with Svetsky”.
I just came back from incline sprints and chin-up burpees at 1:30 p.m. in the 103-degree Texas heat, listening to “Through the Fire,” “Push It to the Limit” and “Eye of the Tiger.” Oh … and I’m fasting.
irrational? Yes. Absolutely-fucking-booty.
When a legal entity thinks they are dealing with “rational” individuals in bitcoin, they are terribly wrong.
When he thinks “these bitcoiners” are being shaken out of the system because of the exchange rate between it and some government-mandated shitcoins, he clearly hasn’t seen the movie before.
We’ve been here before. None of this is new.
There is no surrender. There is no version of this story where actual bitcoiners decide to “sell their bitcoins”.
That shit is off. Forever, Laura. throughout the ages.
What these moments do, however, create the next round of bitcoiners who have the conviction, courage and character to pursue the idea.
We have an unlimited supply of soldiers who will keep flocking to bitcoin over time as the alternatives are either government and central bank Ponzi schemes, or digital and crypto Ponzi schemes.
There is no safe place to park the product of your labor. There is no realm of honesty where the rules aren’t changed by some idiot who thinks they can beat gravity.
Bitcoin is the only option, and when they try to bomb the market financially, we stand strong. We “fight in the shadows.”
Time is on our side. This is a very rare thing, because empires and centrally planned or organized institutions are always fighting over time.
greatness
Nothing great was ever created by an obedient, fearful public.
No great betrayal was ever prevented through compliance and subordination.
There is no glory in retreating, nor in surrendering.
Think about it.
- Alexander the Great.
- Jesus Christ.
- William Wallace.
- America’s Founding Fathers.
- Leonidas and the 300.
You think they didn’t want to give up at some point? You think they didn’t want to throw in the towel? You think they had it “easy”?
Do you think that when Alexander was being speared during the siege, he could have returned home? Or what about the crucifixion of Jesus? He could only “repent” and renounce the Supreme (Truth).
He didn’t.
William Wallace only had to whisper “pity” while they were separated, and perhaps the pain would stop. Instead, with his dying breath, he shouts: “Freedom,
The Founding Fathers and Leonidas could have handed over their weapons and made a deal, but instead, they said “come and take it.”
come and take it.
none They retreated.
They allege, they went ahead, they stood their ground, against all odds.
This The same energy is possessed by real bitcoiners.
They have shut it down and will never give up (pun intended).
This is what it means to be a member of the remnant,
If you’re still here, by definition, you remain. You are the remnant.
20% who make a difference. 20% that matters.
know your Enemy
Remember why you are here.
I’m 100% aware of the fact that I could sell some on top, then buy more, but that’s not my game anymore.
- This is usually very difficult to do, and requires a level of dedication, insight, luck and timing that very few people on the planet have. I am not one of them.
- (Orders of magnitude are more important that #1) … why would I profit in toilet paper money just so I can give 30-50% of it to the enemy? Are you crazy? You think I’m here to “get rich”? You think it’s all about “buying Lambo”? No, I’m here to watch the kingdom of lies blaze. What remains is a foundation upon which we can build a civilization of truth.
The underdog always has an edge because he has nothing to lose.
Combine that with the fact that you have a whole army of people on both sides of the bell curve (no mid-curve people really get into bitcoin), and you have an incredible baseline of holders who are going to go down. That means if you’re ready to ship along.
this level of conviction is No in their models.
Our edge is our irrational optimism. No matter the dip, no derision, no matter the time scale, no matter the exchange-rate pain, we are never fucking sale.
If the establishment wants to play chicken, please do.
You’re going to fuck around and find out, for sure.
We’ll see who the real Brinksmans are.
Contraplant
I was recently introduced to a term by PabloF7Z.
Contraplant, I’m not sure it’s even a word in English, but since we’re always making up words, I’m claiming it. As I’m sure you can tell, it means the opposite of “obedient”.
The way I like to think about it is: “actively non-compliant.”
This is the definition of life for me. Entropy is the status quo and life appears to be something that challenges entropy. We don’t understand why, or how, but it does.
Case in point: When I was coming back from my run, I saw this and had to take a photo:
Like nature, bitcoin is also paradoxical.
They are both alive, and the one who is alive will always find a way.
Bitcoiners and bitcoiners will never surrender. We will never give up.
We are irrationally optimistic about the future, because as I have said many times, A world without bitcoin, where we have nothing, no privacy and are steeped in anti-depressants, is not a world worth living in.
Let this moment serve you in time. Let the flames burn all that is unnecessary. What’s left is the real one, just a thicker skin, more conviction, a higher level of courage, and a character worthy of leadership.
You’ll look back at this moment, and remember what it means to earn your stripes, and it will give you what you need to sustain the great FU energy that makes all the difference.
Be contrarian, young bitcoin padawan.
This is your moment.
