The infamous article “The Face Behind Bitcoin” published by Newsweek is eight years old, and Satoshi’s true identity remains unknown.
On 6th March 2014, newsweekThe 89-year-old American weekly news magazine published a cover story titled “The Face Behind Bitcoin”.
A scathing article written by journalist Leah McGrath Goodman alleged that Japanese-American man Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto was the elusive creator of the world’s first cryptocurrency. The fact that the man worked on defense projects classified as a systems engineer gave more credibility to the story.
Vague remarks made by a Los Angeles resident added more fuel to the fire, sparking a media frenzy. However, the real Satoshi was quick to deny his unmasking in his first public message in years.The true identity of the bitcoin creator remains one of the internet’s biggest mysteries to date. However, many members of the community do not want to know who started it all, clinging to the mantra “We are all Satoshis”.
As U.Today reports, the world’s first statue of Satoshi was unveiled in Budapest, Hungary, last September.
