Kia America and NXT platform Sweet have announced a collaborative effort that will see fans of the automotive provider’s “Robo Dog” collect a robot puppy and 90% of sales will go toward supporting the Petfinder Foundation.
Sweet is a New York-based NFT marketplace that counts its users, top celebrities in the worlds of sports, entertainment and fashion.
NFT for the noble cause
In addition to the initial contribution, Petfinder will also benefit from further funding from the 10-cent royalty scheme associated with any secondary sales of RoboDog NFTs.

Russell Weger, VP of marketing at Kia America, noted that pet surrenders at shelters have increased in the aftermath of the pandemic compared to last year, with the number of more people returning to work.
,Although thousands of animals have found their forever homes, pet surrenders at shelters are on the rise as people return to work and there are many pets whose stories deserve happy endings like the robodog in our Super Bowl spot.,” she added.
10,000 RoboDog ‘Adoption Pass’ NFT
RoboDog is a non-fungible token (NFT) chain minted on the Tezos blockchain and became the firm’s star at the Super Bowl.
As per the announcement, the NFT series will be available in three unique collections.
Kia has launched 10,000 Robo Dog Adoption Pass NFTs available for free on February 11th. The firm said that anyone who successfully claims the Adoption Pass NFT will have access to a presale of 10,000 Generative Robo Dog NFTs. The presale will take place on February 18 on the Sweet.io platform.
