Cardano developer Input Output has announced that the much-awaited Vassil upgrade will take place on September 22. After “extensive testing” of all major components, the business was able to publicly announce the date. Technical issues forced several postponements of the Vasil upgrade, which was first scheduled to take place in June.
The VASIL hard fork is the biggest upgrade ever in terms of input output as it will significantly increase the capacity of the network. Additionally, Cardano developers will have the ability to build more complex decentralized applications.
The Vasil upgrade is named in honor of the late Vasil Dabov, a dedicated member of the Cardano community. It seeks to strengthen the Cardano network and increase its general efficiency. Additionally, the Vasil upgrade will reduce block interaction latency while increasing the throughput and efficiency of Cardano’s scripts.
In order to proceed with the upgrade, the input output needs to confirm that at least 75% of the mainnet blocks were being generated with node version 1.35.3.
In addition, it will have to be integrated with about 25 exchanges, which together account for the majority of ADA token liquidity and the largest decentralized applications in terms of total value locked.
The hard fork date has been formally confirmed due to the fact that Cardano is now performing “well” with respect to all these indicators.
