ETHDenver and the state of Colorado are coming together to encourage the Web3 community to leverage the power of blockchain technology in the name of the public good.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis will deliver a keynote address at ETHDenver, the world’s largest annual Web3 community innovation and blockchain festival, at Denver Sports Castle on February 18, 2022. Governor Polis will discuss the state’s mission to advance the use cases of blockchain technology adoption to improve the lives of Coloradans and promote the public good.
“Blockchain is a transformational technology that is driving real change for Coloradans, and I am proud to be a national leader in Colorado blockchain innovation,” said Governor Polis. “Blockchain is a worthwhile investment in improving the lives of Coloradans by attracting good jobs and innovators in infrastructure, digital identity and personal data security.”
Colorado is the first state to use blockchain technology in government infrastructure. This year, the state of Colorado, in collaboration with ETHDenver, will present four bounties during the BUIDL Week Hackathon. From February 11-16, teams will tackle state-level use cases for blockchain technology.
Governor Polis will be joined by leading blockchain innovators including Ethereum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, and South African entrepreneur and Colorado resident Kimbal Musk, to provide updates on his latest philanthropic project, Big Green DAO.
U.S. Impact Lawyer and Colorado Supreme Court Attorney Yev Muchnik will also provide his updates on legislative efforts aimed at paving the way for Colorado to become America’s first digital state, and for decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) to become legitimate entities.
The collaboration between ETHDenver, a community-led DAO, and operated by the state of Colorado, is also the first time that a DAO and a US state are working together to drive both state, national and international adoption of blockchain technology. . ,
