Popular Canadian rapper Aubrey Drake Graham, also known as Drake, made a big bitcoin bet at Sunday’s Super Bowl game between the Los Angeles Rams (LA Rams) and Cincinnati Bengals.
- Drake took a snapshot of his bet and posted it to Instagram for his more than 100 million followers, titled “All bets are on the family.” Rapper’s bets totaled $1.26 million in bitcoin, made through Stake, a cryptocurrency sports betting platform.
- Drake made a bitcoin bet of CA$600,000 ($472,476) for the LA Rams to win against the Bengals. Rapper Odell Beckham Jr. also seemed to be behind the LA Rams wide receiver, who bet CA$500,000 ($393,825) on the footballer to get over 62.5.
- The Canadian bet another CA$500,000 on Beckham Jr. to get a touchdown. Back in November, the American footballer announced that he would be receiving his NFL salary in BTC following a partnership with CashApp.
- Meanwhile, Super Bowl LVI, which begins on Sunday, February 13, has seen massive interest from various crypto companies. Many exchanges have spent millions of dollars on advertisements to reach audiences during the game.
- Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX recently announced that it will give away free bitcoin as part of its BTC campaign. The platform paid for the ad space in October 2021.
- Another major cryptocurrency exchange Cryptocom paid over $6 million for a 30-second ad at the 2022 Super Bowl.
