Digital currency trading platform Coinbase is producing a three-part film series with popular non-fungible token (NFT) project Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). The films will be produced by Coinbase Entertainment and feature select BAYC NFT characters that will be crowdsourced from the bored app NFT community.

On April 11, Coinbase announced that it plans to release a film trilogy dedicated to the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection. A report coming from one37pm.com suggests that the crypto exchange is “celebrating and expanding the BAYC community” through the film trilogy.

The one37pm.com announcement, written by Charlie Kolbrenner, states that Bored Ape owners can submit their Bored Ape NFTs to the web portal degentriology.com and, if chosen, that Bored Ape will be featured in a three-part film adventure. Including the Appcoin project. ,

Yuga Labs CEO says film trilogy a ‘breakthrough project’ for NFT
On Twitter, Coinbase said that people can help make a movie by adding their wallet, depositing a bored monkey, and “hiding an easter egg.” The move is being taken with BAYC before the company is ready to launch the upcoming Coinbase NFT Marketplace. In mid-January, the exchange partnered with Mastercard to strengthen the NFT market. Through the deal, Mastercard credit and debit card users will be able to pay for non-fungible tokenized assets through the Coinbase NFT marketplace.
Nicole Muniz, CEO of Yug Labs, the company that created the Bored Ape Yachts Club NFT project, said the film trilogy with Coinbase is a pioneering step forward in NFT and entertainment.
“We are seeing how the NFT Network continues to evolve as a vehicle of access and participation in games, merchandise and now interactive entertainment,” Muniz explained during the announcement on Monday. This is a successful project and we are excited to see how it shapes the future of Web3 for all communities,” said Yuga Labs CEO.
