Blockchain firm Animoca Brands announced that the company has partnered with venture accelerator Brink to launch the Play-to-Earn (P2E) Guild Accelerator Program. Both firms plan to dedicate $30 million over the next two years to early-stage startups focused on expanding the global P2E ecosystem.
Animoca Brands and Brink’s launch P2E fund for early stage startups
On February 14, blockchain firm Animoca Brands revealed that it has partnered with venture accelerator firm Brink. The two companies have launched a new fund dedicated to the play-to-earn (P2E) ecosystem by providing $30 million to early-stage startups. Participants in the Guild Accelerator Program (GAP) will receive “$500,000 or less” to help promote the industry.
Animoca Brands says that GAP aims to “enable millions of people worldwide to generate income by participating in P2E gaming through the Crypto Gaming Guild.” The deal follows Brink’s recent funding round for $130 million two months ago, led by Animoca Brands. “Entry into the program is a priority for the Guild with a commitment to sustainability,” the announcement on Monday details.
The announcement further states that eco-friendly solutions are important. Animoca Brands’ fund announcement stated:
This includes projects that support and give back to player/scholar communities, emphasize energy-efficient proof-of-stake protocols and side chains, and have a low overall physical footprint.
$30 million to fund Guild Accelerator Program up to $500K per Guild
The Guild Accelerator Program Also Follows Animoca Brands raising $358 million Web3 and Metaverse to enhance the industry in mid-January. In November 2021, P2E Gaming Guild Avocado Guild raised $18 million From Animoca Brands. Additionally, the company’s subsidiary, The Sandbox Blockchain Metaverse Game, partnership Gaming giants Ubisoft and Rabbids along with two unveiled Vox versions of the characters.
The partnership announcement between Brink and Animoca Brands further states that the GAP funding will be led by Richard Robinson, an entrepreneur-in-residence at Animoca Brands.
“The Guild Accelerator Program will fund up to US$500,000 per guild – to optimize each guild’s performance and help scale growth, the program will foster innovation, establish management and operational systems, best-in-class mentors from world-class consultants.” -Class will share learnings, expand each platform’s user base and assets, and help raise funds beyond the startup phase,” concludes Animoca Brands’ GAP funding announcement.
